The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ashley throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Masters throws a head kick that misses.
Ashley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Masters swivels and escapes.
Masters takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Good leg kick by Masters there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Masters throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Masters throws a sloppy head kick and Ashley moves out of range easily.
Masters scores with a kick to the midsection.
Masters lands a leg kick that knocks Ashley off balance momentarily.
Ashley shoots in but Masters avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ashley looks to score with a jab to the body but Masters is just out of range.
Masters throws a sloppy head kick and Ashley moves out of range easily.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Masters - that will leave a mark!
Masters scores with the left hand. Ashley knows he should have avoided that one.
A head kick from Masters lands but Ashley takes it in his stride.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Masters throws a series of punches but Ashley avoids them all with ease.
Masters lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A big left from Ashley misses.
Good work by Ashley as he checks the leg kick.

Masters tries a head kick but it misses.
Ashley misses with a series of wild punches.
Ashley shoots in for a double leg but Masters sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Ashley shoots in for a takedown but Masters shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ashley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Masters as he avoids it easily.

and Masters counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Ashley is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Masters connects with a high kick.

Chaz Ashley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Masters throws a powerful right kick. Ashley tried to block low but the kick was high! Ashley was taken right off of his feet! Masters jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
