The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ilie stuffs the takedown.

Ilie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Muchacho.
Muchacho with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ilie to score with a decent uppercut.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Muchacho enables Ilie to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Muchacho manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Ilie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Muchacho as he avoids it easily.
Ilie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Muchacho tries to avoid it but Ilie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Muchacho to the ground. Muchacho escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Muchacho closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Muchacho dives in and grabs Ilie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ilie pushes down on Muchacho's head and hops out.
