Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eric Philips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miles DAvis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). DAvis is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Miles DAvis - someday my prince will come. Miles DAvis is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Philips!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miles DAvis!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DAvis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
DAvis has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Philips wants to clinch
and DAvis counters with a nice leg kick.
A head kick from Philips lands but DAvis takes it in his stride.
No luck for DAvis with that takedown attempt.

DAvis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Philips's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
DAvis controlling from the top position.
DAvisis looking to pass into half guard but Philips pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Philips is in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We're going to have a standup here because Eric Philips wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

and Philips counters with a nice kick to the body.

DAvis tries to pull guard but Philips holds him up against the cage and eventually DAvis drops back down to his feet.
DAvis wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Philips throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but DAvis blocks it with crossed arms.

Philips connects with a nasty looking knee right to DAvis's face.
Philips with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
DAvis blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Philips really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

DAvis tries for a takedown but Philips sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Philips lands a nice leg kick that just misses DAvis's sensitive parts.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Philips, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
