The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crushkin misses with a wild combination.
Crushkin fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Crushkin dives in and grabs Manhoef's left leg, looking for a takedown. Manhoef pushes down on Crushkin's head and hops out.
Sloppy strikes from Crushkin. Those never looked like landing.
Manhoef lands with a kick to the temple. Crushkin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Nikolai Crushkin has been cut.
Nikolai Crushkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Crushkin takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Manhoef has Crushkin pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Crushkin is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Manhoef - that's hurt Crushkin badly! Oh, another knee lands and Crushkin is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Crushkin doesn't seem to be complaining.
