Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Crier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Driver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crier comes to the cage accompanied by Red Hot Chili Peppers - Get On Top. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Crier!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Driver!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crier tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Driver was well out of range. Poor timing from Crier.
Driver shoots in for a takedown but Crier shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Crier fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Driver to the ground. Crier is now in Driver's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Crier postures up.
Driver looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Crier loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Driver not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Crier won't allow Driver to sweep him here.
Driver is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Crier working some strikes from top position.
Driver is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Crier lands a couple of digs.
Driver looking for a sweep. Not yet Driver, not yet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Crier advances position into side control!
Crier looks up at the clock and then as Driver takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Crier smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Driver sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Driver is trying to control but can't.
Crier missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Crier seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Driver does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Crier not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Driver tries to get to full guard but Crier has control of the leg.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Driver can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ground and pound from Crier.
Driver really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Crier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Driver is looking to improve his position.
Crier drops an elbow to the side of Driver's head.
Driver is trying to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Driver on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Driver is staying active underneath Crier, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Crier is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Driver is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Driver is looking to improve his position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Crier content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Crier wants to take a breather but Driver is having none of it.
Driver is trying to maintain the position but Crier is very close to passing his half guard.

Johnny Crier has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Crier scores with a decent looking hook.
Crier jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.


Driver is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Crier drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Driver is still in real trouble! Can Crier finish him?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crier pushes down on Driver's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Crier is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Driver is hurt! He's hurt bad - Crier fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Driver from any more punishment! Congratulations to Crier! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Crier!
