The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Qualls scoring well with a low kick there.
Walter wants to clinch up but Qualls keeps it at a distance.

Qualls had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Walter defends it easily.

Qualls escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Qualls throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Walter escapes and throws Qualls's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Walter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Qualls knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Qualls gets back to half guard.

Walter seems to be looking for submissions.
Walter takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
