Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rick Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Prevost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rick Martin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Prevost!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martin gets a takedown into half guard.
Prevost looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Prevost is refusing to be controlled, as Martin sits in half guard.
Martin is pressing down on Prevost's thigh, looking to free his foot. Prevost is holding on for now.
Martin moves nicely into side control.
Prevost tries to bench press Martin off him but Martin keeps the position.
Martin moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Martin has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Martin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Prevost sprawls well initially but Martin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Martin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Prevost gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Martin is on top in guard.
Ryan Prevost has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
