PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Filo Bedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doug Tuna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tuna has chosen Sharky + George as his entrance music. Filo Bedo is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Filo Bedo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Doug Tuna!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bedo misses with a hook to the body
and Tuna connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bedo digs a right hand underneath Tuna's ribcage. Tuna let out a lung full of air as it connected.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Bedo takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Bedo missing with knees to the body.
Tuna changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bedo fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Bedo goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Doug Tuna has been cut.
Tuna takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Tuna shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Bedo thows a body shot but no joy.
Bedo checks a leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bedo throws a right and a left that Tuna avoids nicely.
Bedo misses with a double jab.
Bedo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tuna paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bedo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tuna sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bedo throws a left and a right that both miss
and Tuna counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bedo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tuna manages to avoid it.
Bedo walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Tuna checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Tuna misses with a low kick.
Tuna throws a wild body kick that Bedo sees coming a mile off.
Tuna lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Bedo throws a head kick that misses
and Tuna counters with a solid body kick.
Bedo misses with a lunging right hand
and Tuna counters with a thumping low kick.
Bedo scores with a head kick. Tuna tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tuna pushes Bedo away with a front kick.
Tuna throws a leg kick
and Bedo counters with a head kick. That will keep Tuna thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bedo moves out of range of the body kick from Tuna.
Filo Bedo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Tuna looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Tuna is looking to take a break and control but Bedo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Tuna controlling the action here.
Bedo tries to kick Tuna off but Tuna keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tuna throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Tuna is stalling here. Bedo is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Tuna seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bedo has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Tuna manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Tuna scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Bedo manages to mount him!
Bedo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bedo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Bedo wants to stand but Tuna is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Filo Bedo dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Doug Tuna's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bedo connects with a high kick.
Sloppy strikes from Bedo. Those never looked like landing.
Tuna ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bedo moves away.
Tuna lands a nice shot that snaps Bedo's head back.
Tuna doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Bedo swings for the body but Tuna moves out of range.
Tuna misses with a kick to the body
and Tuna takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bedo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Tuna - the referee stops the clock and Bedo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Tuna. Bedo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Bedo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tuna fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Bedo checks it well.
Bedo is looking to wear down Tuna with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Tuna swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tuna slips a straight right by Bedo.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tuna throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Bedo moves into the clinch.

Bedo lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Tuna backwards.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Bedo.

Bedo manages to break the clinch.
Tuna keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Bedo misses with a combination
and Tuna makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Tuna uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bedo.

Bedo misses with a kick to the body

and Tuna decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bedo's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tuna thows a big elbow that misses.
Bedo is looking to stand up but Tuna isn't so interested in that idea.
Tuna wants to control from the top but Bedo keeps moving.

Tuna throws and elbow that misses. Bedo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tuna's guard. Nice move by Bedo!
Tuna wants to stand and escape but Bedo is having none of it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Doug Tuna has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
A big left from Bedo misses.
Bedo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Tuna can pounce on him.
Bedo lands a jab to the nose.

Tuna goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Tuna throws a body kick that misses.
Bedo throws a jab when Tuna was well out of range.
Bedo looks to land a body kick but Tuna moved away.
Tuna fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Bedo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tuna circles away quickly and effectively.
Tuna defending well as Bedo loads up on a big left hand.
Bedo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tuna avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bedo misses with a leg kick.

Filo Bedo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bedo lands a head shot.

Tuna throws a leg kick but Bedo moved away.
Tuna misses with a kick to the body
and Bedo counters with a leg kick.
Tuna lands a nice looking kick to the body. Bedo takes a step back to recover.
Bedo misses with a looping left.
Tuna throws a nice inside leg kick.
Tuna throws a low kick but it's checked well by Bedo.
Tuna throws a good cross that connects.

Bedo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Filo Bedo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bedo, as that shot connected.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tuna lands with a good body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Filo Bedo will probably get the nod.

Some wild striking there from Bedo.

Bedo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Tuna has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Bedo clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Tuna slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Tuna punches the canvas rather than the man.
Tuna thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Bedo looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Tuna is throwing shots to the body but Bedo manages to wriggle free. Tuna pounces on him again and ends up in Bedo's guard.

Tuna missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Tuna throws and elbow that misses. Bedo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tuna's guard. Nice move by Bedo!
Bedo trying to control the position from guard on top but Tuna is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Filo Bedo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Filo Bedo just wasn't active enough.

Bedo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tuna was well out of range. Poor timing from Bedo.
Tuna will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Bedo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tuna. That did some damage!
Tuna swats away the attempt to clinch by Bedo.
Tuna thuds a left hand into Bedo's body.
Bedo connects with a body shot.
Bedo moves out of range as Tuna throws a body kick.
Tuna throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Bedo counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Tuna is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Bedo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Bedo scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Bedo throws a hook but Tuna blocks it.
Bedo jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Bedo lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Sloppy strikes from Bedo. Those never looked like landing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bedo throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Bedo avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Tuna misses the shot to the body.
Bedo takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Tuna counters with a right hand to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Doug Tuna.
I think Bedo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
