The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Holyfield shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lee sprawls well. Lee wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Holyfield gets slowly back to his feet.

Holyfield dives in and grabs Lee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes down on Holyfield's head and hops out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lee can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lee has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Holyfield is working away from the top position though.

Holyfield drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lee looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lee looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lee!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Fast Lee hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Lee misses with a body shot.
Lee tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Holyfield was well out of range. Poor timing from Lee.
Holyfield throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Holyfield shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Evander Holyfield is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Holyfield takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Lee throws a shot from downtown. Holyfield moves away and avoids it.
Holyfield tries to close the distance and clinch but Lee swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fast Lee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Evander Holyfield.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Holyfield, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
