The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kronic counters with a nice leg kick.
Maia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kronic moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kronic throws a head kick that Maia semi-blocks.
It looks like Damian Maia has been cut.
Kronic scores with a head kick.
Kronic tests Maia's chin there with a solid looking shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Maia gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Kronic to counter with a crisp jab.

Maia is trying desperately to land a takedown but Kronic is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Maia.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Kronic cracks Maia with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Nate Kronic is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

so Maia counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Maia seems to have recovered his senses.
Kronic has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Maia off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Maia uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kronic.

Maia shoots for a double leg takedown but Kronic sprawls well. He's pushed Maia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Kronic stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

The cut above Damian Maia's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kronic leaves Maia with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Kronic feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Maias jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Damian Maia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
