Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hoplo Brute (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Jackel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brute comes to the ring accompanied by his teams song. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brute moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Jackel fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Brute checks it well.
Decent striking displayed by Brute there.
Jackel misses with a hook
and Brute counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Brute lands a jab to the nose.
Brute with a nice cross.
Jackel takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Brute moves into range and connects with a jab.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brute with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Jackel pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jackel takes a jab right on the kisser.
Jackel does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Jackel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jackel walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Brute connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

No joy there for Brute, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jackel takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Brute lands a leg kick that knocks Jackel off balance momentarily.
Jackel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brute tries to avoid it but Jackel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brute to the ground. Brute escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hoplo Brute has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The Jackel.

Jackel throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Brute was covering up waiting for the punch and Jackel finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Brute trying to keep a closed guard but Jackel is proving a slippery customer.

OK we're going to have a standup here. The Jackel hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Jackel misses with a takedown
and Brute counters with a three punch combo that has Jackel backing up. Jackel nods at Brute to acknowledge the strikes.
Brute lands with a shot to the body.
Jackel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jackel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brute swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Jackel tries to pull guard but Brute won't allow it.

Jackel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The fighters circle momentarily. Brute darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Brute dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Brute bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jackel's head.
Brute changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Jackel with a poor takedown
and Brute makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Jackel is breathing heavily.

Jackel tries to bum rush Brute with a series of wild strikes but Brute uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Brute stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Jackel's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Brute connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jackel scrambles back to his feet.

enabling Brute to counter with a crisp jab.
Jackel takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Jackel with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Brute to score with a decent uppercut.
Jackel throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brute's waist but Brute gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jackel off to one side.

Jackel doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Jackel takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Brute lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Brute throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Jackel walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Jackel looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brute is fending him off so far but Jackel persists. Nope, Brute circles away and we're back to standing.

Jackel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Brute tries to keep at a distance but Jackel has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jackel is trying to drag Brute to the mat but Brute just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.

Brute stalks Jackel and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jackel's face. Jackel staggers backwards, shaken.

Brute feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jackels jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Brute lands with an uppercut that bounces Jackel off the ropes and back into range.

Brute connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jackel's hands.
The fighters circle momentarily. Brute darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jackel takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Horrible takedown by Jackel or perhaps it was just good defense by Brute which made him look bad.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Brute, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
