The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Popko has his takedown stuffed
and Solomon counters with a takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Popko is trying to control Solomon's posture but Solomon avoids it.
Solomon happy to just control the position for now.
Popko manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Solomon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Popko on the ground.
Popko is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Popko is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Solomon is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
