The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Stevens shoots in and bounces Timppa off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Timppa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stevens is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Timppa to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Timppa shrugs it off.

Stevens looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Timppa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee asks Stevens politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Stevens prefers to stall for the moment though.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Stevens has hold of Timppa's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Timppa tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Stevens cranks the arm and Timppa screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Timppa, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
