Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chico Lao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DeVaughn Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). DeVaughn Williams has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Chico Lao's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chico Lao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DeVaughn Williams!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lao fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Williams avoids it really well and circles away.
Williams doesn't manage to clinch there - Lao circles away.
Lao throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Williams's waist but Williams gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lao off to one side.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lao.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chico Lao. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lao shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Williams pinned against the cage. Williams gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Williams looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Chico Lao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams tries to close the distance and clinch but Lao swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lao shoots for a takedown but Williams saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Williams throws a series of punches but Lao avoids them all with ease.
Lao bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Williams manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Williams slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Williams has a closed guard, preventing Lao from standing up.
Williams is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Williams pulls Lao in close to prevent any damage.

Williams controls Lao momentarily but Lao frees himself.
Lao wanted to stand there but Williams had control of the position.
Williams escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lao gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Williams looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Williams looks gassed!
Lao tries to stand but Williams is controlling from the bottom.

Williams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lao is looking to stand up but Williams won't let him.
Williams pushes Lao off and gets back to his feet.
No luck for Lao with that takedown attempt.
Williams keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Lao shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Williams defends it nicely.

Lao fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lao manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Williams on his heels. He'll look to pass Williams's guard now, I'm sure.
Lao wants to get up but he can't break Williams's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Williams manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Lao avoids a series of strikes thrown by Williams.
Williams working for a submission but Lao is keeping him at bay.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Williams misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Lao scores a takedown into full mount!
Lao stands up from mount. Strange move.
Lao looks for a takedown but Williams sprawls well.
Williams goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Lao circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sloppy strikes from Williams. Those never looked like landing.

Lao shoots in looking for a takedown. Williams tries to sprawl out of it but Lao keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Williams manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Williams throws a sloppy head kick and Lao moves out of range easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Williams looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Lao shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Williams pinned against the cage. Williams gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Williams shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Williams was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Williams pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Williams looking to finish Lao with some ground and pound. This is bad for Lao!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lao is looking to escape.
Williams is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Lao is forced to tap! Great finish!
