Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reggie Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Christian Maxwell!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Columbo Gatti and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Green as Maxwell shoots in.
Maxwell clinches up against the cage.
Green scores with a shoulder strike.
Maxwell tries to score a body lock takedown but Green shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Green manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Green lands a hook to the side of the head.
Maxwell wants to get back to striking at distance but Green won't allow it.
Green has had enough of the clinch but Maxwell keeps him there for the moment.
Maxwell keeps control of Green as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Maxwell is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Reggie Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christian Maxwell.
Maxwell misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Green.
Maxwell wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Green has him pressed against the cage.
Green is pressed up against the cage. Maxwell has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Green down to the mat. Green avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Green misses with a double jab.
Green misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Maxwell avoids the body shot from Green.
Maxwell takes the fight into the clinch.
Maxwell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Green is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Maxwell avoiding damage as Green throws knees to the body.
Green lands a right hand that snaps the head of Maxwell backwards.
Green lands an elbow inside.
Green lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Maxwell changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Green fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Green comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Maxwell looks gassed!
A punch combination from Green misses.
Maxwell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Green tries to avoid it but Maxwell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Green to the ground. Green escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Green seems to be stalking Maxwell here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! Maxwell drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
