PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brad Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aku Zoku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aku Zoku!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lee doesn't manage to clinch there - Zoku circles away.
Lee throws a jab but it's blocked by Zoku.
Lee looks to land a left hand but Zoku moved out of range nicely.
Zoku shoots in looking for a takedown. Lee tries to sprawl out of it but Zoku keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lee throws a jab when Zoku was well out of range.
Lee throws an overhand right that lands on Zoku's shoulder, as Zoku tries to avoid the shot.

Zoku fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lee sprawls well initially but Zoku persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Well, if Zoku is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Still in half guard, Zoku seems content to control.
Lee is trying to get back to full guard.

Lee has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Zoku is working away from the top position though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Zoku in particular looking to stall.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Zoku shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lee napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Zoku scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Lee is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Zoku can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
