Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Cordes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tom Jones will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Jones misses.
Tom Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones throws a right hand that Cordes ducks under and follows up with a left that Cordes also avoids with ease.

Cordes shoots in but no luck this time.
Cordes shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cordes moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.
Cordes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.

Jones tries to bum rush Cordes with a series of wild strikes but Cordes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Cordes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard.
Cordes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cordes postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it.
Cordes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Cordes decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jones, as that shot connected.

Jones throws a right and a left that Cordes avoids nicely.
Cordes shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cordes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jones swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jones looks to land a combination but Cordes avoids it well.
Cordes has a takedown stuffed.
Some wild striking there from Jones.

Jones moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Jones lands a really nice looking cross but Cordes seems unphased.
Cordes slips a jab and a cross from Jones.
Cordes shoots in but no luck this time.
Jones throws a nice looking combination but Cordes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jones fails to land with a series of punches.

Cordes moves into the clinch successfully.
Jones lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Jones prevents a takedown attempt there.
Cordes throws a head punch that misses.
Cordes tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage.
Cordes tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
Jones moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Jorge Cordes has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jones misses with a double jab

and Cordes counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cordes missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Jones on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jorge Cordes will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Cordes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jones throws a combination that misses

and Cordes counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jones!
Cordes cracks Jones with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jones is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Cordes lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jones hang on?
Jorge Cordes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cordes connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cordes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cordes looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Jones covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
