The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hatton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Vasquez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Tony Vasquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vasquez throws a series of strikes that have Hatton backpedaling.
Vasquez fails to land with a series of punches.
Hatton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vasquez. Hatton does a little dance to reset his feet.
Vasquez looks to land a combination but Hatton avoids it well.
Hatton takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Vasquez ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hatton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Vasquez connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Vasquez pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Hatton back to the cage. Vasquez follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Vasquez rushes Hatton with punches - Hatton moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Hatton goes down! Vasquez follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
