Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Sotiropoulos!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sotiropoulos has a takedown stuffed.
Peterson throws a nice inside leg kick.
Sotiropoulos throws a left and a right that both miss
and Peterson counters with a three punch combo that has Sotiropoulos backing up. Sotiropoulos nods at Peterson to acknowledge the strikes.
Peterson explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Sotiropoulos is rocked!


It looks like George Sotiropoulos has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Peterson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Sotiropoulos is still on wobbly legs! Can Peterson finish him?
Sotiropoulos misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Peterson throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Sotiropoulos seems to have recovered his senses.
Peterson tries to work over Sotiropoulos's front leg with a kick but Sotiropoulos checks it.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sotiropoulos crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Peterson - the referee stops the clock and Sotiropoulos gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Peterson. Sotiropoulos manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Peterson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Peterson wants it to stay on the feet.
Hank Peterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Sotiropoulos.
Peterson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Sotiropoulos shoots in for a takedown but Peterson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Sotiropoulos shoots in but Peterson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Peterson.
Peterson dips to his left and cracks Sotiropoulos with an uppercut!

Sotiropoulos takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sotiropoulos shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Peterson defends it nicely.
Sotiropoulos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Peterson but Peterson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Peterson is looking to land body kicks.
Sotiropoulos is trying desperately to land a takedown but Peterson is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Sotiropoulos.
Peterson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Sotiropoulos tries for a takedown but Peterson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Peterson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Peterson stuffs the takedown.
Peterson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Peterson stalks Sotiropoulos and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sotiropoulos's face. Sotiropoulos staggers backwards, shaken.
Peterson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Peterson throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Hank Peterson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Peterson tries to land a leg kick but Sotiropoulos saw it coming and moves away.
Peterson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sotiropoulos. That did some damage!

Sotiropoulos wants to clinch.

Sotiropoulos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sotiropoulos showed some decent athleticism there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sotiropoulos seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Peterson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Peterson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sotiropoulos scores with a couple of nice shots.
Sotiropoulos not landing any meaningful shots this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sotiropoulos shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Peterson's guard.

Sotiropoulos is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Peterson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
A nice elbow there by Sotiropoulos.
Sotiropoulos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sotiropoulos cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Peterson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sotiropoulos on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sotiropoulos is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Sotiropoulos quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Sotiropoulos but it's paid off an Peterson is forced to tap! Nice work by Sotiropoulos.
