The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oddy avoids the head kick by Rupp.
A punch lands to the side of Oddy 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Rupp throws a series of punches but Oddy moves out of range.
Rupp lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Oddy backs up against the cage.
Rupp lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Oddy at a distance.
Rupp misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Oddy.
Rupp lands a slapping body shot.
Oddy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rupp.
Rupp looks to throw the jab but Oddy is out of range.
Rupp misses with a double jab.
Rupp throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Oddy.
Oddy takes one on the chin but seems OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Oddy moves in looking to clinch but Rupp pushes him off.
Oddy thows a left - swing and a miss!

Oddy closes the distance and clinches.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Oddy just misses with a elbow thrown towards Rupp's brow.

Rupp blocks an elbow strike from Oddy.
Rupp tries to work over Oddy's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Rupp creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Oddy tries to land knees in the clinch but Rupp avoids the damage to the body.
Rupp doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Rupp avoids a wild elbow strike from Oddy.
Rupp is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Oddy throws an elbow but misses.
Rupp fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Rupp is trying to force a seperation but Oddy has the dominant position.
Rupp lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Oddy lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Rupp manages to break the clinch.
Oddy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A right-left combo lands from Rupp.
North Rupp is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rupp looks to land a combination. Oddy sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Oddy is breathing heavily.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rupp throws a one two combo.

Bill Oddy's cut is getting worse.
Rupp lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Rupp tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Oddy showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rupp.
Oddy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Oddy moves forwards but Rupp connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Rupp throws a head kick that misses.
Oddy tries for a takedown but Rupp sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Oddy's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rupp connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Oddy scrambles back to his feet.
Rupp works the jab nicely.
Oddy closes the distance and clinches up with Rupp, looking for a takedown. Oddy pushes Rupp against the cage but Rupp circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Oddy moves in looking to clinch but Rupp pushes him off.
Rupp scores with a jab to the body.
Rupp pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Oddy throws a solid leg kick but Rupp takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Oddy.
Rupp moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Rupp connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Oddy's hands.

Bill Oddy's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Oddy slips a jab from Rupp.
Rupp has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
The crowd cheers as Rupp lands an impressive looking overhand right. Oddy doesn't seem phased though.
Rupp shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Oddy eats them both and turns towards Rupp to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Oddy steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rupp.
Rupp throws a good cross that connects.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rupp throws a leg kick that misses.
Rupp connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rupp thows a body shot but no joy.
Oddy fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rupp is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Rupp misses with an uppercut. Oddy saw that one coming.
Rupp cracks Oddy with an open hand slap.
Rupp misses the shot to the body.
Oddy is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Rupp.
The fighters circling - Rupp throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Rupp lands with a shot to the body.
Rupp bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Jeez, Bill Oddy's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Rupp rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Oddy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rupp is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Oddy had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rupp throws a lazy right hand but Oddy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rupp lands a jab.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Oddy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

North Rupp dominated that round.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rupp cracks Oddy with a good jab.
Oddy walks into a straight right hand from Rupp.
Rupp's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rupp duly obliges.

Oddy is rocked!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bill Oddy's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
