Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Livre tries for a takedown but Mondavi circles away easily

and Mondavi counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Livre wants to sweep here but Mondavi controlling him for the moment.
Mondavi trying to control but Livre is working from the bottom.
Livre manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Livre is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mondavi can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Livre trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Mondavi defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Livre.
Mondavi is trying desperately to improve position.
Mondavi blocking the ground and pound.
Mondavi tries to hold on but Livre postures up.
Livre trying to control but Mondavi is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mondavi can't escape the position.
Livre looking to ground and pound but Mondavi is blocking nicely.
Livre thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mondavi is looking to get to half guard.
Livre in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Mondavi wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Livre.
Livre unloads with some shots from mount but Mondavi bucks and avoids them well.
Mondavi is trying to escape the mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mondavi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mondavi wants to hold on but Livre pushes him away.
Livre can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mondavi is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mondavi is trying desperately to improve position.

Livre moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mondavi has worked his arm free - good work by Mondavi!
Livre creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Livre misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Mondavi is not content to let Livre control the position.
Livre working the ground and pound but Mondavi is defending the strikes.
Mondavi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Livre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Livre trying to control the position but Mondavi is working away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luta Livre dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Livre throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Mondavi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Livre tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mondavi is in Livre's guard.
Livre tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Livre controls Mondavi momentarily but Mondavi frees himself.
Livre pulls Mondavi in close to his closed guard and prevents Mondavi from doing any damage or advancing position.

Mondavi content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Livre has locked up a guillotine! Livre's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Mondavi is holding on here and Livre must be using up a lot of energy. Mondavi has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Livre gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
