Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Ibanz!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nolam is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ibanz sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ibanz fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Ibanz forces Nolam back against the cage and clinches.

Nolam lands a takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Ibanz wants to stand and escape but Nolam is having none of it.
Nolam keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ibanz's head.

Nolam has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ibanz utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Nolam kicks off Ibanz and gets to his feet.
Ibanz will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Nolam blocks the body kick.

Ibanz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nolam, pushing him back against the cage.

Nolam works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nolam throwing strikes but missing.
Ibanz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nolam is one step ahead there.
Ibanz working a defensive guard but Nolam manages to pass into side control anyway.

Ibanz wants to control but Nolam postures up.
Nolam grinds an elbow into Ibanz's temple.
Ibanz is trying to control Nolam's posture but Nolam avoids it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ibanz tries to improve position but can't.

Nolam slips a nice elbow through Ibanz's hands, connecting with Ibanz's forehead.
Nolam is breathing heavily.
Ibanz wants to improve his position but Nolam is controlling well.
Nolam stops Ibanz from getting back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nolam prevents Ibanz from improving his position.

Nolam keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ibanz's efforts to push away.
Ibanz wants to get back to striking at distance but Nolam won't allow it.

Ibanz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Nolam landing with the ground and pound.

Nolam gets to his feet. Ibanz looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Nolam counters with a takedown into side control.
Ibanz is breathing heavily.
Ibanz is trying to control Nolam's posture but Nolam avoids it.

Ibanz is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Nolam is staying active.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nolam cracks Ibanz with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Ibanz can't do much from the bottom here.
Ibanz wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Zahir Nolam overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Nolam scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Ibanz to see if he's OK.

Nolam looks to land a strike but Ibanz avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Nolam throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ibanz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ibanz lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nolam!

Ibanz looking to control but Nolam is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close second round but I would say that Zahir Nolam will probably get the nod.

Ibanz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ibanz throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nolam showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ibanz.
Ibanz shoots in but no luck this time.
Ibanz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ibanz moves into the clinch.
Ibanz wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ibanz is trying to stall.

Ibanz tries to pull guard but Nolam holds him up against the cage and eventually Ibanz drops back down to his feet.
Ibanz wants a takedown but no success here.
Zahir Nolam has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Ibanz.
Ibanz has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Nolam with a knee to the head.

Nolam gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Ibanz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nolam gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Nolam lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Nolam decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Ben Ibanz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nolam tries for a takedown but Ibanz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Nolam counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ibanz's guard now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ibanz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nolam doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nolam manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ibanz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nolam defends well.
Ibanz wants to sweep but no luck.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Zahir Nolam.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nolam, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
