Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Remo Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor's entrance music is Spragga Benz - Crazy. A fine choice. Damian Carter is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Remo Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Damian Carter!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter avoids the head kick by Taylor.
Taylor stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Taylor uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Carter fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Taylor sprawls well initially but Carter persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Carter passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Taylor!

Taylor is rocked!


It looks like Remo Taylor has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carter landing shots from mount.
Oh Taylor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Carter goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Taylor is on top in guard.
Taylor seems to have got his legs back now.
Taylor trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Carter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taylor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Taylor prevents Carter from getting back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Taylor preventing the sweep.
Taylor is breathing heavily.
Carter looking to control.
Carter wants to sweep but no luck.

Taylor drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Taylor jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Carter is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Carter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carter pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Taylor is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taylor is trying desperately to improve position.
Taylor avoids a series of strikes thrown by Carter.
Taylor regains half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Taylor slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Taylor lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Carter!

Taylor is working for a guillotine from mount but Carter frees his head quite easily.
Carter tries to hold on but Taylor postures up.
Taylor punishing his opponent with strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Taylor has control of Carter's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Carter regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Carter is trying desperately to improve position.
Taylor with a couple of short strikes.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Carter has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Remo Taylor dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Remo Taylor's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Taylor throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Carter.
Taylor shoots in and drives through. Carter sprawls well.
Taylor lands a nice looking kick to the body. Carter takes a step back to recover.
Taylor lands a head kick!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Taylor - that will leave a mark!

Carter instigates a clinch.
Taylor can't break the clinch.
Taylor tries to stall but Carter uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Taylor can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.
Taylor wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Carter wants the takedown. Taylor is fighting it off but Carter persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Taylor's guard against the cage.
Carter is looking to stand up but Taylor won't let him.
Carter is looking to work some ground and pound but Taylor has wrist control.

Carter is posturing up here but Taylor has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Carter tries to roll out but it's too tight and Carter has to tap! Slick submission there by Taylor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Remo Taylor!
