Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jannis Arvanitidis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Andreas!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andreas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Arvanitidis.
Andreas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Arvanitidis swivels and escapes.
Andreas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Arvanitidis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Andreas somewhat.
A head kick misses from Arvanitidis.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Arvanitidis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jannis Arvanitidis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Andreas.
Andreas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Arvanitidis.
Arvanitidis moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Daniel Andreas has been cut.

Arvanitidis waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Andreas. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Andreas to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Andreas throws his legs up looking for a submission but Arvanitidis uses it to pass to side control.
Andreas is still in real trouble! Can Arvanitidis finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Arvanitidis wants to control for a moment but Andreas uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Arvanitidis lands a nice short elbow.

Arvanitidis is working for a submission of some sort.

Arvanitidis wants to pass the guard but Andreas is defending well.
Arvanitidis not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Arvanitidis is trying to control the action in half guard but Andreas is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Andreas on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Andreas can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Arvanitidis lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Andreas quite badly. Andreas pulls Arvanitidis in close trying to recover. Arvanitidis postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Andreas on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Andreas doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jannis Arvanitidis!
