The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayfield lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Wesker backs up against the cage.

It looks like Albert Wesker has been cut.

Wesker shoots in for a takedown but Mayfield shows good takedown defense.
Wesker takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Mayfield tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wesker paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Wesker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mayfield, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Still in the clinch, Mayfield scores with a nice short uppercut.
Mayfield digs a right hand into Wesker's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Wesker's gas tank.

Mayfield ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Wesker crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mayfield - the referee stops the clock and Wesker gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mayfield. Wesker manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Mayfield feints and then cracks Wesker's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wesker down.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
