Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Kirk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Optimus Prime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kirk comes to the cage accompanied by That Heavenly Glory. James Kirk has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirk throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Kirk lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Some bone on bone action there as Prime checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Prime dives in and scores a takedown into Kirk's guard.

Prime drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kirk manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Prime has Kirk in his guard.

Kirk is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Kirk passes Prime's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Kirk is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Prime has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kirk moves nicely into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kirk goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Prime rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kirk's guard! Nice work there by Prime!

Prime postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kirk is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Prime, into his guard.

Kirk drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kirk jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kirk drops back looking for a leg! Prime is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Prime manages to kick Kirk off! Kirk jumps back into Prime's guard.

Kirk tries to free his leg and advance position but Prime is retaining full guard.

Kirk avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Prime is looking for a triangle here but Kirk uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Prime looking for a sweep but Kirk has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Prime has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Prime is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kirk gets his way!
Prime tries to escape the position.
Prime turns into Kirk and is now in his guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kirk holds on and takes a little breather.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Prime is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kirk is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kirk has escaped and now he's on top!
Prime looks gassed!

Kirk slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Kirk is trying to get an arm triangle but Prime is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kirk is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Prime is trying to escape and Kirk transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Prime is forced to tap! Nice work there by Kirk! Very nice indeed!
