PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Well Rounded (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bret Sane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sane is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Domination. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Well Rounded!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sane looking to score a takedown here. Rounded is defending well but Sane drives through and ends up in Rounded's guard.
Rounded trying to keep a closed guard but Sane is proving a slippery customer.
Sane trying to control the position from guard on top but Rounded is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sane stands and steps away. Rounded gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Sane closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rounded quickly recovers to half guard.
Sane is pressing down on Rounded's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rounded is holding on for now.

Sane is looking to clinch but Rounded is avoiding it.

Sane shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rounded is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sane controlling the position easily from mount.
Sane lands a big shot there that rocks Rounded but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Sane trying to control but Rounded is having none of it.
Rounded sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sane is just content to waste time from the top position. Rounded takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Sane wanted to stand there but Rounded had control of the position.
Rounded controls Sane momentarily but Sane frees himself.
Sane wants to control from the top but Rounded keeps moving.

Rounded is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Rounded looking for a sweep. Not yet Rounded, not yet.
Sane postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rounded swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rounded throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sane lands with a thumping leg kick.
Rounded throws a series of punches but Sane moves out of range.
Rounded keeps the fight on the outside.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Sane shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Sane is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Rounded throws a nice looking combination but Sane bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Sane counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sane decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sane looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rounded throws a right hand that Sane ducks under and follows up with a left that Sane also avoids with ease.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sane misses with a low kick.
Well Rounded is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rounded scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bret Sane dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Sane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rounded tries to avoid it but Sane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rounded to the ground. Rounded escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sane fails to land the takedown.
Rounded moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Sane shoots in but Rounded avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Well Rounded has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bret Sane.

Sane feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bret Sane was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Rounded rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sane moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sane avoids the body shot from Rounded.
Rounded throws out a powerful jab.
Rounded scores with a one two! Sane had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Rounded throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rounded ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Sane on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rounded. Rounded obviously looking to wear him down.

Sane scores with a takedown into Rounded's guard.
Sane is breathing heavily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rounded is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Rounded manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rounded is landing with some decent strikes but Sane is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Rounded prevents Sane from getting the reversal.

Rounded can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sane is looking to escape.
Rounded throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Sane is looking to improve his position but Rounded isn't that keen on the idea.

Rounded avoids the attempt from Sane to control.
Sane is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rounded trying to control but he's not successful this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sane is desperately trying to improve his position but Rounded has a good base and remains in mount.

Well Rounded dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Rounded's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rounded duly obliges.
Rounded feints and then cracks Sane's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sane down.

Rounded misses with a two punch combination.
Rounded throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rounded darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Sane looks to land a combination but Rounded avoids it well.
Sane tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rounded swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Well Rounded is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rounded fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sane closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rounded circles away.
Sane takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sane throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rounded was covering up waiting for the punch and Sane finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Sane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rounded swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sane wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Rounded's closed guard. He's half up but Rounded has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Rounded pivots and extends the arm, Sane falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Rounded! Well done that man!
