Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alistair De Jong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Riverboat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riverboat is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mama said knock you out (Dylan, Merchant, Cool J). Ricky Riverboat has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Jong shoots in for a takedown but Riverboat shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
De Jong throws a head kick that misses.

Riverboat shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts De Jong as he jumps to the side.
Riverboat lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Riverboat wants to clinch up but De Jong keeps it at a distance.

De Jong rushes Riverboat and presses him up against the cage.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

De Jong has his foot on Riverboat's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Riverboat works his way back into a safe position though.

Riverboat closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. De Jong quickly recovers to half guard.

and Riverboat counters with a single leg into guard. De Jong didn't expect that.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Riverboat is standing up over De Jong. De Jong looks to escape but Riverboat dives into side control.

Riverboat decides to stand up, so the ref orders De Jong to his feet.

Riverboat changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. De Jong tries to avoid it but Riverboat manages to keep hold of a leg and drag De Jong to the ground. De Jong escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Alistair De Jong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Riverboat.
Riverboat keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Riverboat shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. De Jong eats them both and turns towards Riverboat to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Riverboat moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
De Jong takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nice sprawl there from Riverboat as De Jong shoots in.
Alistair De Jong is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A lull in the action here as Riverboat stalls from top position.
De Jong tries to escape but Riverboat is in control.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
De Jong wants to get back to his feet.

Riverboat is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. De Jong is defending well though. Riverboat let's go of the attempt for now.
Riverboat somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Riverboat is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged De Jong with him. De Jong is trying to defend but Riverboat has an arm under the chin now! De Jong grimaces and is forced to tap out!
