The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers slips a straight right by Whitehead.
Powers uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Whitehead.
Nice defenses there by Powers.
A big left from Whitehead misses.
Powers misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Powers slaps away a takedown attempt from Whitehead, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Powers throws a sloppy head kick and Whitehead moves out of range easily.

No joy there for Whitehead, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Powers has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Whitehead clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Powers goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Whitehead turns into him and now he's in Powers's guard.

Powers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Whitehead can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Whitehead thows a body shot but no joy.
Whitehead lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Whitehead.
Powers throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Powers bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Powers moves forwards but Whitehead connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Whitehead misses with an uppercut. Powers saw that one coming.
Whitehead lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Powers moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Whitehead tries a head kick but it misses.

Whitehead avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Powers steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Whitehead.

Powers misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Whitehead throws a body punch but Powers moves out of range.
Whitehead dodges the punch combination from Powers.
Powers takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Powers dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Whitehead. That did some damage!
Powers tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Whitehead was well out of range. Poor timing from Powers.
Powers has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Austin Powers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Whitehead connects with a high kick.
Powers is looking to slow Whitehead down with leg kicks.

Powers clinches up with Whitehead and pushes him back against the cage.
Whitehead tries to land knees in the clinch but Powers avoids the damage to the body.

Powers has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Whitehead regains guard immediately.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Whitehead tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Powers gets to his feet. Whitehead looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Powers shoots in and bounces Whitehead off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
