Martell's entrance music is White Zombie - More Human Than Human. A fine choice. Souza has chosen The Hart Song as his entrance music. Wanderlei Souza looks lathargic as he enters the arena. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martell moves in looking to clinch but Souza pushes him off.
Souza looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Martell fails with an attempt to clinch.
Souza shoots and misses
and Martell moves into the clinch.
Souza tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Martell smiles and moves away.
Souza avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Martell is looking to clinch but Souza is avoiding it.
Martell closes the distance and clinches.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Martell.
That has opened up Wanderlei Souza's cut even more.
Martell lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Souza tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Martell just stands there and leans against the cage.
Niles Martell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wanderlei Souza.
Souza takes an elbow to the forehead.
The cut above Wanderlei Souza's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Wanderlei Souza's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
