Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cody Elkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teddy Parkinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elkins comes into the arena with King of Kings blaring out of the sound system. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Elkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Teddy Parkinson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elkins connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Parkinson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Elkins moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Elkins avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Parkinson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Elkins.
Parkinson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Parkinson sizes up Elkins with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Parkinson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Parkinson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Elkins to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Parkinson wants to sweep here but Elkins controlling him for the moment.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Elkins gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Elkins shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Parkinson counters with a low kick, right behind Elkins 's knee.
Parkinson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Elkins manages to avoid it.
Parkinson throws a right hand that Elkins ducks under and follows up with a left that Elkins also avoids with ease.
A jab from Parkinson misses.
Parkinson throws a shot to the body.
Horrible takedown by Elkins or perhaps it was just good defense by Parkinson which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cody Elkins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Parkinson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Elkins's head backwards.

and Elkins counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Elkins would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Parkinson is trying to control the position but Elkins postures up.
Elkins stays in close to Parkinson's body and controls the position.

Cody Elkins has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Parkinson throws a lazy right hand but Elkins sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Elkins changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Parkinson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Parkinson tries to bench press Elkins off him but Elkins keeps the position.

Parkinson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Elkins has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Elkins just content to control the position.

Elkins stands up and beckons Parkinson to his feet.
No luck for Elkins with that takedown attempt.

Parkinson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Elkins moves away.

Parkinson gets caught flat footed, as Elkins shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Parkinson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Parkinson pulls Elkins in close to his closed guard and prevents Elkins from doing any damage or advancing position.

Elkins stands up and waves to Parkinson to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Parkinson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Elkins's calf.
Parkinson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Elkins momentarily.
Elkins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Parkinson tries to avoid it but Elkins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Parkinson to the ground. Parkinson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Parkinson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Elkins.
Parkinson loads up on a big right hand but Elkins slips the punch.
Elkins moves away from the strike by Parkinson.
Parkinson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

We're going to have a standup here because Cody Elkins wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Elkins shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Parkinson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Parkinson is looking to stand up but Elkins isn't so interested in that idea.

Parkinson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Elkins closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Parkinson did well to prevent Elkins getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Elkins seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Parkinson is looking to control Elkins's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Parkinson avoid being mounted?

Parkinson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Elkins shoots in looking for a takedown. Parkinson tries to sprawl out of it but Elkins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Parkinson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Parkinson feints a jab promting Elkins to slip. Parkinson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Elkins slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Parkinson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Teddy Parkinson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Elkins shoots for a double leg takedown but Parkinson sprawls well. He's pushed Elkins's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Teddy Parkinson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Elkins has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
