Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Denis Opal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Fiddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chuck Fiddel has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Denis Opal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Chuck Fiddel!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Opal drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Opal taking a breather here.
Fiddel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Opal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Opal decides to stand back up. Opal steps back and let's Fiddel get back to his feet.
Fiddel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Fiddel misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sloppy strikes from Fiddel. Those never looked like landing.
Opal slips a jab and a cross from Fiddel.

and Opal counters with a leg kick.

and Opal decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fiddel's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Opal passes Fiddel's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Opal is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Opal is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Opal stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Opal shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Fiddel napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Fiddel wants to control but Opal postures up.
You can see the frustration on Fiddel's face as Opal controls the position.
Opal's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Opal has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Opal tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Opal stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Chuck Fiddel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fiddel throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Opal counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Fiddel misses with a wild combination.

Opal instigates a clinch.

Opal escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fiddel looks to land a combination but Opal avoids it well.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A short right from Fiddel on the inside.

Opal is trying to trip Fiddel. He has hold of a leg but Fiddel is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Opal persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Fiddel is working an open guard so Opal takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Opal manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Fiddel on his heels. He'll look to pass Fiddel's guard now, I'm sure.

Fiddel can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Opal controls the pace.
Fiddel is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Opal dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Opal prevents Fiddel from escaping the position.

Opal decides to stand up, so the ref orders Fiddel to his feet.

Opal has managed to clinch.

Opal manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Fiddel wants to stand and escape but instead Opal has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Fiddel is working an open guard so Opal takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Fiddel should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Opal darts in and clinches Fiddel up against the cage.

Opal decides to pull guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Opal is pulling down on Fiddel's head. It's preventing any offense from Fiddel, at least for the moment.
Opal manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Opal get's back to his feet.
Fiddel falls off balance throwing a combination

and Opal counters with a takedown into side control.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Denis Opal dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Opal closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fiddel's guard.
Opal makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Opal controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Fiddel is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Opal passes Fiddel's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Opal is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fiddel can do to turn this around?
Still in half guard, Opal seems content to control.

Opal stands up and beckons Fiddel to join him on the feet.
Denis Opal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Opal drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Fiddel is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Opal passes into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Opal stalling.

Opal is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fiddel is just riding it out for now. Opal eventually gives up the hold.
Opal uses his free foot to push down on Fiddel's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Fiddel.

Opal takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Opal fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Opal content just to control the position here.
Fiddel wants to control but Opal is having none of it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Opal lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Opal has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Fiddel is forced to tap!
