The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson keeps the fight on the outside.
Thompson scores with a one two! Anderson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
A head kick misses from Anderson.
Thompson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Anderson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Del Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thompson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Anderson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thompson but Thompson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Thompson clinches up against the ropes.
Thompson lands an elbow inside that Anderson shrugs off.
Anderson takes a knee right on the jaw!
Anderson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Thompson keeps control of Anderson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Thompson is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Anderson is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thompson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Anderson.
Anderson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Blade Anderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thompson throws a knee to the head but misses.

Anderson has had enough of the clinch but Thompson keeps him there for the moment.

Anderson is rocked!
Thompson has Anderson pressed up against the ropes in a tight Thai clinch. Anderson is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Thompson - that's hurt Anderson badly! Oh, another knee lands and Anderson is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Anderson doesn't seem to be complaining.
