The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jackson shoots in and drives through. Smith sprawls well.
Smith lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Jackson tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.
Smith works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown but Smith manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jackson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

It looks like Lance Jackson has been cut.
Smith throws a head kick but Jackson moves out of range.
Jackson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Smith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jackson sprawls well initially but Smith persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith is keen to just control but Jackson is a slippery customer.
Smith not doing much here.
Jackson gets back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith postures up in Jackson's guard and throws a big left but Jackson blocks it.
Smith throws a strike but Jackson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Smith wants to stand up but Jackson is controlling him.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.
Jackson throwing strikes but missing.

Jackson drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Jackson as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Smith screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Jackson! Nice submission victory there!
