Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Tony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Rua might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Slayed. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as James Tony enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Rua fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tony manages to avoid it.

It looks like Mauricio Rua has been cut.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tony is defended easily by Rua.
Tony takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Rua throws a hook but Tony avoids it easily.

Rua lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tony circles away quickly and effectively.

Tony bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Rua has one of Tony's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
You can see the frustration on Rua's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Tony wants to control but Rua is keeping him busy.
Tony might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rua kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Rua is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Mauricio Rua will probably get the nod.

Rua escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tony gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Tony passes Rua's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Tony is stalling here. Rua is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Tony seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rua has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Tony wants to control the pace but Rua is squirming around nicely.
Tony is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rua can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Tony is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rua can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Well Tony has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
