Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Bane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryo Kanzaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bane's entrance music is Ego Draconis. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Xavier Bane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryo Kanzaki!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jonathan Paton and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bane connects with a single shot there.
Kanzaki dodges the punch combination from Bane.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bane, as that shot connected.
Bane leaves Kanzaki with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bane fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Bane's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Bane duly obliges.
Kanzaki doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Bane decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kanzaki's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bane bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kanzaki's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Bane leaves Kanzaki with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Xavier Bane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryo Kanzaki.
Kanzaki takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Kanzaki takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Bane feints and as Kanzaki raises his hands in defense, Bane changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Kanzaki is breathing heavily.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kanzaki needs to keep his hands up - Bane had a free shot at his head there.

and Bane counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Kanzaki is trying desperately to land a takedown but Bane is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Kanzaki.

Kanzaki walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Horrible takedown by Kanzaki or perhaps it was just good defense by Bane which made him look bad.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bane is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Well Bane has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
