The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dunaev lands a head kick. McCarty smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Jon McCarty has been cut.

Dunaev throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Dunaev is looking to slow McCarty down with leg kicks.
McCarty stuffs the takedown.
Dunaev throws a head kick but McCarty moves out of range.

Dunaev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

McCarty gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Dunaev throws a nice head kick!
Maxim Dunaev is winning the standup battle so far.
Dunaev shoots in looking for a takedown but McCarty manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dunaev's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
McCarty has a takedown stuffed.

Dunaev lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
McCarty is breathing heavily.
A combination from Dunaev does no damage.
Dunaev turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

McCarty is pressed up against the cage. Dunaev has hold of a leg and is looking to drag McCarty down to the mat. McCarty avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
