PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Blackshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Kauo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kauo has chosen RAWR as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackshaw tries to clinch there but Kauo circles away.
Kauo fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kauo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Blackshaw sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Blackshaw bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Blackshaw throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Kauo works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Kauo wants to control but Blackshaw is keeping busy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kauo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kauo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Blackshaw takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Blackshaw is trying to get back to half guard.
Kauo looks up at the clock and then as Blackshaw takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kauo smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Blackshaw is looking for a sweep.
Blackshaw takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kauo scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Blackshaw to see if he's OK.
Kauo wants to control but Blackshaw is keeping him busy.
Kauo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kauo lands an elbow.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kauo has an Americana. Blackshaw didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Kauo is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Kauo hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
