Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Swearingen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charlie Swearingen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cody Miller!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swearingen misses with the combination.
Miller throws a head kick that misses.
Swearingen fails with a takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Swearingen or perhaps it was just good defense by Miller which made him look bad.

Swearingen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Miller takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Miller wants to get back to his feet.
Miller takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Swearingen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Miller is letting Swearingen control him for a moment.
Miller really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Swearingen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Swearingen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Miller tries to escape but Swearingen is in control.

Swearingen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Miller does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Miller looks like he's trying to stand up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

and Miller counters with a slapping leg kick.
Swearingen fails to land the takedown.
Swearingen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Miller as he jumps to the side.
Swearingen tries for a takedown but Miller sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Miller tries to clinch up.
Miller doesn't manage to clinch there - Swearingen circles away.
Swearingen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Miller as he jumps to the side.

Swearingen landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Swearingen seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Miller on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Swearingen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Swearingen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Swearingen lands with a punch from half guard.
Swearingen not doing much here.
Swearingen is nestled in close to Miller, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Swearingen takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Swearingen is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Miller has hold of Swearingen's hands but Swearingen slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

It looks like Cody Miller has been cut.

Swearingen shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Miller is on queer street and Swearingen is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Charlie Swearingen!
