Ellis gets caught napping as Shields dives in and scores a takedown. Ellis manages to retain guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Ellis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shields can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Shields throwing strikes from guard but Ellis blocks nicely.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Ellis is looking for a triangle but Shields pushes his legs off easily.

Ellis has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Shields should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Ellis has tightened it up now! Shields should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
