PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake OBrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cesar Tremblay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). OBrien comes to the cage accompanied by Fire Work. Cesar Tremblay is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake OBrien!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cesar Tremblay!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tremblay looks to land a combination. OBrien sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


It looks like Jake OBrien has been cut.
Tremblay changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. OBrien tries to avoid it but Tremblay manages to keep hold of a leg and drag OBrien to the ground. OBrien escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
OBrien defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tremblay.
OBrien closes the distance and clinches up with Tremblay, looking for a takedown. OBrien pushes Tremblay against the cage but Tremblay circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
OBrien fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from OBrien.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake OBrien. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

OBrien seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tremblay does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

OBrien looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Tremblay has hold of OBrien's hands but OBrien slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
OBrien is taking a breather. Tremblay says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
OBrien scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Tremblay really doesn't want to stay on the ground with OBrien. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tremblay has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. OBrien is working away from the top position though.
OBrien is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Tremblay wants to sweep here but OBrien controlling him for the moment.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells OBrien's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

OBrien wants to control from the top but Tremblay keeps moving.
OBrien stands up over Tremblay, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
OBrien lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Tremblay trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
OBrien lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Tremblay has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but OBrien can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
OBrien wants to control from the top but Tremblay keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OBrien shoots in looking for a takedown. Tremblay tries to sprawl out of it but OBrien keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tremblay manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice takedown defense from OBrien. No joy for Tremblay on that attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tremblay looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
