PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tiger Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry The Third (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cruz kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Go To Sleep by Eminem feat. DMX, Obie Trice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz lands with a nice body punch.
The Third misses with a kick to the body.

Cruz closes the distance and pushes The Third back into the cage.

The Third swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
The Third moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

so Cruz counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cruz stands and steps away. The Third gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The Third shoots for a double leg takedown but Cruz sprawls well. He's pushed The Third's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tiger Cruz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henry The Third.

The Third shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cruz pinned against the cage. Cruz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A momentary lapse in concentration from The Third enables Cruz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. The Third manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Cruz decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on The Third, up you get!

The Third shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cruz is trying to defend but The Third finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The Third is pressing down on Cruz's thigh, looking to free his foot. Cruz is holding on for now.

The Third is looking to stall here but Cruz recovers full guard.
Cruz wants to improve his position but instead The Third has moved into half guard.

The Third wants to take a breather but Cruz is having none of it.
Cruz is concentrating on defense, preventing The Third from advancing position.

Cruz kicks off The Third and gets to his feet.
Cruz lands with an uppercut that bounces The Third off the cage and back into range.

Cruz has taken the fight to the clinch.

Cruz manages to break the clinch.
Cruz scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
The Third looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The Third gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Cruz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cruz is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Cruz lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Cruz lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
The Third changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cruz tries to avoid it but The Third manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cruz to the ground. Cruz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Henry The Third is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cruz lands a straight punch to the body, keeping The Third at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Cruz counters with a one-two to the body.
Tiger Cruz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henry The Third.
Cruz slips a straight right by The Third.
Cruz connects with a crisp jab.
The Third is breathing heavily.
The Third gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Cruz gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
