The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddox misses with a hook to the body
and Nakamura counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Maddox connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Maddox takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Maddox throws a big shot that misses.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Maddox.

Maddox is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Nakamura.

Maddox slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nakamura wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Maddox.
