Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between German Shepard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Davis will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shepard throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Shepard shoots in but no luck this time.
Shepard shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Shepard on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Shepard throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davis's waist but Davis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shepard off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for German Shepard. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Davis lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Davis.
Shepard shoots in for a double leg but Davis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Shepard shoots for a takedown but Davis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Shepard shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Davis but Davis pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Davis rushes Shepard and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Davis is pressed up against the cage. Shepard has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Davis down to the mat. Davis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Shepard fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Davis to the ground. Shepard is now in Davis's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Davis wants to stand but Shepard is controlling the position.
Davis tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Shepard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Shepard looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Davis pushes Shepard off looking to stand but Shepard dives back in and keeps control.

BOOM! Shepard connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Shepard looking for a guillotine from mount but Davis is having none of it.
Shepard lands a big elbow.
Shepard wants to control the pace but Davis is squirming around nicely.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shepard controlling the pace for now.
Shepard misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Davis is in a horrible position here. Shepard smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Shepard lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Davis is rocked!
Shepard is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Davis can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Davis is still in real trouble! Can Shepard finish him?
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Shepard is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Davis can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Shepard! Davis is hurt baaadly! Shepard is firing away with more strikes - Davis is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
