Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Gonzaga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brendan Weber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzaga kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Danzig - Mother. Brendan Weber will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weber connects with a body shot that sends Gonzaga's belly button to the back.
Weber rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gonzaga moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Weber fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Weber lands a head shot.
Gonzaga jabs Weber right on the nose. Weber blinks but takes it well.

It looks like Brendan Weber has been cut.

Gonzaga instigates a clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Gonzaga.

Weber breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gonzaga throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Weber's waist but Weber gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gonzaga off to one side.
Weber steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gonzaga.
Gonzaga dives in and grabs Weber's left leg, looking for a takedown. Weber pushes down on Gonzaga's head and hops out.
Gonzaga fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gabriel Gonzaga. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Weber slaps away a takedown attempt from Gonzaga, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Brendan Weber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Weber. Gonzaga does a little dance to reset his feet.
Brendan Weber is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A nice right hand lands inside from Weber.
Gonzaga has Weber pressed against the cage, preventing Weber from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Weber prevents a takedown attempt there.
Weber wants to break free but Gonzaga has control.

Gonzaga is trying to trip Weber. He has hold of a leg but Weber is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gonzaga persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Weber really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gonzaga. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gonzaga lands a couple of elbows.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gonzaga accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gonzaga is pushing down on Weber's leg trying to pass to half guard. Weber is fighting to maintain full guard but Gonzaga has managed to sneak the leg through.
Gonzaga throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Gonzaga has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Weber defend it? Gonzaga steps over the head and cranks it - Weber is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Gonzaga!
