The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Samoltsev manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dover on his heels. He'll look to pass Dover's guard now, I'm sure.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Samoltsev stays in close to Dover's body and controls the position.
Samoltsev wants to control from the top but Dover keeps moving.

Miroslav Samoltsev has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Samoltsev shoots in but Dover avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Dover drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dover wants to lay and pray for a moment but Samoltsev keeps working.
Samoltsev is looking for a sweep.

Samoltsev is trying to control Dover's posture but Dover avoids it.
Dover wants to stand but Samoltsev is controlling his arm.

Dover really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Samoltsev looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Dover has picked Samoltsev up and slammed him! Samoltsev can't keep hold of the triangle and Dover manages to pass to side control!
Dover is looking to take a break and control but Samoltsev is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Dover remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
