PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cup Coffee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Goguryeo Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim has chosen Cunninlynguists - Lynguistics as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Goguryeo Kim!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coffee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Coffee digs a good body shot into Kim's ribs.

Coffee throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Coffee takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Nice defenses there by Kim.

and Kim counters with a leg kick.

Cup Coffee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Coffee throws the left hand but Kim avoids the punch easily.
Horrible takedown by Coffee or perhaps it was just good defense by Kim which made him look bad.

A looping hook to the body misses from Kim. Coffee does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Coffee takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kim uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Coffee.
Kim is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Coffee is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Coffee shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Kim slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Kim has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kim with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Coffee chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kim can pounce on him.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Coffee might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Kim fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Coffee has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Coffee closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Coffee wants to pass to mount but Kim is defending the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kim is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Cup Coffee showed his dominance in that final round.
