Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gabino Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nelson Hopper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzales comes into the arena with Matador by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs blaring out of the sound system. The key to victory for Gabino Gonzales has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzales scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Hopper moves in looking to clinch but Gonzales pushes him off.

Hopper takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Gonzales throws a nice outside leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hopper.
Hopper shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gonzales as he jumps to the side.
Gonzales throws a leg kick which misses Hopper's front leg but catches the back leg as Hopper tries to avoid it.
Hopper on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Gonzales ducks under a wild hook from Hopper.

Hopper chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gonzales can pounce on him.

Gonzales feints and then cracks Hopper's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hopper down.
Hopper is trying desperately to land a takedown but Gonzales is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Hopper.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hopper closes the distance and clinches up with Gonzales, looking for a takedown. Hopper pushes Gonzales against the cage but Gonzales circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hopper throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gonzales tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hopper is in Gonzales's guard.

Hopper had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gonzales defends it easily.
Hopper is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hopper not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hopper thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gonzales's head.

Hopper in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Gonzales tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Hopper!
