Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Carween (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick McBride (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Shane Carween!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Patrick McBride!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carween lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


It looks like Patrick McBride has been cut.
Carween is looking to clinch but McBride is avoiding it.
Carween tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. McBride manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
No joy there for Carween, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Carween lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McBride circles away quickly and effectively.
McBride shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Carween looks to throw the jab but McBride is out of range.

Carween darts in and clinches McBride up against the cage.

McBride breaks from the clinch.
Carween uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Carween dodges the ground and pound from McBride.
Carween is trying to control McBride's posture but McBride avoids it.

Carween stops McBride from passing to mount.
Carween taking a bit of punishment here - McBride scoring with strikes.
McBride looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Carween is avoiding damage well.
McBride remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

McBride tries to score with some ground and pound. Carween controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Carween manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
McBride tries to roll over but Carween keeps him under control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McBride makes his way to full guard. A much better position for McBride.
McBride thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McBride tries to land a sweep but no joy.
McBride keeping moving, preventing Carween from controlling successfully.
Carween will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
McBride manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Carween manages to get himself to full guard.

McBride passes Carween's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
McBride is thwarting Carween's attempts to control the position.
McBride thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Carween pushes McBride off looking to stand but McBride dives back in and keeps control.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Carween looks to throw the jab but McBride is out of range.

McBride clobbers Carween with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


It looks like Shane Carween has been cut.
McBride moves away from the strike by Carween.

Carween throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and McBride counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
McBride perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
McBride throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
McBride stalling away here and it's allowed Carween to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
McBride connects with a couple of short punches.
Patrick McBride has got the better of the ground game so far.

Carween knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McBride on the ground.

McBride slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McBride accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
McBride trying to control but Carween is working from the bottom.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
McBride lands a couple of elbows.
McBride throws and elbow that misses. Carween uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McBride's guard. Nice move by Carween!
Carween would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
McBride looking for a sweep. Not yet McBride, not yet.

McBride pulls Carween in to control the position.
