The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rdrigues is looking to chop away at Tribbiani's legs.
Tribbiani shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Rdrigues eats them both and turns towards Tribbiani to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Ricardo Rdrigues has been cut.

Rdrigues tries to keep at a distance but Tribbiani has taken the fight into the clinch.

Tribbiani breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Tribbiani clinches with his opponent.

Tribbiani pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Tribbiani closes the distance and pushes Rdrigues back into the cage.

Rdrigues jumps into guard, dragging Tribbiani to the mat.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Rdrigues pulls Tribbiani in close to prevent any damage.

Tribbiani gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Rdrigues shoots in but Tribbiani avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tribbiani connects with a looping right hand.
Tribbiani connects with the punch.
Joey Tribbiani seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rdrigues gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Tribbiani.
Rdrigues shoots for a double leg takedown but Tribbiani sprawls well. He's pushed Rdrigues's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricardo Rdrigues. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tribbiani is pawing at Rdrigues, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Rdrigues's nose. Rdrigues is badly hurt! Tribbiani pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Rdrigues tries desperately to hold on but Tribbiani is relentless in his assault! As Rdrigues receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Tribbiani away and this one is in the books!
